the penitential prayer of st. ephraim the syrian

o, lord and master of my life,

take from me the spirit of sloth,
faint-heartedness, lust for power,
and idle talk.

but give to your servant, rather, the
spirit of wholeness, humility,
patience, and love.

lord of all, grant me to see my own
errors and not to judge my sisters
and brothers.

for you are blessed from all ages
to all ages.
